My pen-name is James R. MacAdie. The "R" stands for Robert. I am a Nova Scotia born Canadian citizen of Scots-Irish, Welsh, German, French and British descent (mostly Scots-Irish, though). Yes, I have a kilt, and frequently wear it with pride (in case you want to ask, the tartan is Fergusson of Athol).
I am an aspiring novelist above all else. But I am also a traditional media visual artist, a dancer, a martial artist, a soccer (football) player, a singer, a musical composer, an instrumental musician (I play the electric bass guitar, as well as electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboard and piano, and Latin and African percussion), apprentice audio tech and DJ, an active seeker and promoter of grass roots, indie, unsigned and low-profile bands and musicians, a self-proclaimed eclectic fashionista, an historian*, a genealogist*, a geologist*, an astronomer and theoretical astro-physicist* (*by hobby), a generally intellectually minded person, a philosopher and thinker, a human rights activist, a sort of "90's-style hipster", a gamer, and a highly androgynous/epicene "new man" type of guy.
I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, on July 13th, 1983, at 8:04 PM ADT to a father of Scottish and Irish descent, and a mother of Welsh, German, French and British descent.
